Our post this week is centered around one of our clients...HydrogenXT. HXT has developed hydrogen-based
solutions for both commercial/industrial applications and fuel cell electric vehicles.

HXT is developing the world’s first network of hydrogen fuel stations that produce renewable, clean hydrogen on-site using steam-methane reformation (SMR) technology. This leading-edge technology converts methane, a greenhouse gas that significantly contributes to climate change, into hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs). In the process, we reduce the carbon content of the methane so that drivers not only help the environment when they are driving their cars, but also when they fuel up at a HXT station.
Methane captured at landfills or sewage treatment plants, ambient air and a small amount of water turn it into steam to break the methane’s molecules apart and convert it into hydrogen. Patents have been developed and approved for this reformation process. Also, patents have been issued for a proprietary App. (mobile) integrating hardware, software, telecommunications and data collection for vehicles.
HYDROGEN WILL BECOME THE PRIMARY TRANSPORTAION FUEL IN THE UNITED STATES
Major automakers have invested in hydrogen as a fuel source, and consumers are already purchasing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. (see Toyota Mirai) ssl.toyota.com https://youtu.be/0m2VifoJoA0
Commercial vehicles, such as, forklifts, buses and other heavy duty industrial equipment are rapidly converting to Hydrogen Fuel Cells as the cleanest most efficient sources of energy on the planet. Our government is also taking full advantage of this energy source in submarines, aircraft and booster rockets...to name just a few.
Hydrogen-XT has developed a unique solution to the last barrier to full market acceptance – an ability to conveniently and efficiently refuel FCEV’s. HXT’s patented system makes it feasible to quickly establish a network of affordable, standardized and scalable hydrogen fueling stations thus allowing HXT to become the premier provider of hydrogen fuel for vehicles in the United States.
A HUGE MARKET FOR FUELING STATIONS
With an understanding of the environmental benefits of hydrogen fuel, major automotive manufacturers have invested over $52 billion into the next generation of hydrogen-powered vehicles. In 2013, the following states, California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey,New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont signed a “Memo of Understanding” committing to deploying 3.3 million hydrogen vehiclesby 2025. The U.S. Government has established financial incentives to motivate all states to address emission mandates by increasing theadoption of more energy-efficient vehicles.
The usage of hydrogen power has already established a place in Commercial Environments and it continues to grow. Consumers will appreciate the benefits of hydrogen-powered vehicles over current “electric cars”.
Broad market acceptance will be based on the practical reality of making the refueling process as simple as a stop at a gas station. HXT envisions initial interest will come from gasoline service stations owners.
